Chief Anesthesiologist

Dr. Kenneth PitersDr. Kenneth Piters has practiced anesthesiology for over 20 years. He earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. After moving to Los Angeles, he did his internship and Internal Medicine residency at LA County-USC Medical Center. While at USC, he spent an additional year engaged in Endocrinology research, concentrating on Diabetes, and authored a definitive treatise on the treatment of diabetic coma.

Dr. Piters completed a Cardiology Fellowship at the UC Irvine-Long Beach VA Medical Center program, and then served for three years as a staff physician in the Cardiology Department of those same institutions. After a two year Anesthesiology residency at UCLA, where he served as Chief Resident, he moved to northern California to begin his practice. His position at a regional center for cardiac surgery during his first fourteen years of
work in anesthesia allowed him to participate in well over a thousand heart surgeries alone, and in addition to the general surgical cases.
He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Anesthesiology.

Dr. Piters is an accomplished classical pianist, and his other outside interests include, but are not limited to, grape growing, wine making, astronomy, and the study of physics.
